Projects

Multi-Family Development in the Hough Community

SOA has completed work on a $ 5,000,000 project with the Famicos Foundation. The project consisted of renovating 96 existing apartments in 8 buildings into 75 apartments. The buildings comprise 4 handicap accessible units, 2 bedroom units, 3 bedroom units and 4 bedroom units with in suite hook ups for washer and dryer. The project was completed December 2003.

 

Retail and Commercial Development in Cuyahoga County

SOA working with Bialosky and Partners as associate architect has completed construction of the 60,000 square foot Glenville Towne Center. Our firm was responsible for completing the shell package for the Hollywood Video Store and the Glenville Hall of Fame Memorial Garden.

Completed working drawings for the renovation of a 4,000 square foot commercial building in Glenville, which consists of 800 square foot police mini-station, 1,600 square foot restaurant, and 1,600 square foot barbershop and beauty salon build outs.

We have completed the design of 40,000 square feet of tenant spaces at the Graphics Art design Centre located on East 40th Street.

 

Residential Development in the Hough Neighborhood

SOA has completed through construction 70 custom homes ranging from $ 150,000 to $ 400,000 in the Hough community. This has been accomplished with a partnership consisting Hough Area Partners In Progress and Capri Homes, Tesco Builders and Wake Forest Contractors.

 

Residential Development in the Fairfax Neighborhood

SOA has completed construction of 65 tax credits homes for scattered sites throughout Fairfax in association with Capri Homes, Inc. and the Fairfax Renaissance Development Corporation. We have also completed 10 custom homes in the community.

 

Ohio City

SOA has completed the renovation of two historical structures in the Ohio City neighborhood. The Clement Building at W. 58th and Lorain Avenue, which is an exterior renovation of a two story structure consisting of two retail storefronts and four apartment units. The second building is the Four Horsemen Saloon at W. 57th and Lorain Avenue, which is an interior and exterior renovation for a sports bar and future dining rooms.

 

Religious Facilities

SOA  has completed a number of religious facilities throughout the Cleveland either as additions to existing structures or new stand alone buildings. Projects completed to date are a $750,000 addition consisting of  a fellowship hall, classrooms, conference room and pastor’s study for the Warrens Road Community Baptist Church in Maple Hts.

In 1999. A new $600,000 fellowship hall, classrooms and meeting room addition for Zion Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. A new $185,000 sanctuary facility for Original Harvest Missionary Baptist Church in 1995. A new $225,000 sanctuary facility that also including the renovation of a former restaurant into a fellowship hall for Faith Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

 

Childcare Centers in Cuyahoga County

SOA has completed a 6,000 square foot facility for Kenner Child Development Center in the Union Miles community of Cleveland as a design-build project with LonColeman Corporation.

Completed a 3,000 square foot facility for Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church at E. 55th and Utica. The project consisted of renovating an existing 2,500 square foot commercial building and designing a new 1,500 square foot addition.

Completed a 1,225 square foot addition onto the Toddle Inn Childcare Center in Cleveland Hts. The project also included the design of a new 5,000 square foot parking lot and 1,000 square foot playground area.

 

Residential Development in the Forest Hills Neighborhood

SOA completed design the Lakeview Corridor Master Plan, which looked at 4 sites for new green space, and residential development along Lakeview Road with direction from Notheastern Neighborhood Development Corporation. This master plan led to completion of 15 tax credit town homes and 10 tax credit single family homes and 10 market rate single family homes in the Forest Hills neighborhood.

 

Cuyahoga County Metropolitan Housing Authority

Lobby renovations and rehabilitation and handicap accessible public facilities and suites for three high-rise apartment developments in the City of Cleveland.

Conversions of efficiency apartment units into single suite apartments both for the non- handicapped and handicapped at three sites - approximately 100 units in total.

Master planning and site redevelopment for Cedar Estates complex in the City of Cleveland. This work included to new playgrounds for toddlers and 6-10 year olds respectively.

 

University of Suburban Health Center  South Euclid, Ohio

We have completed several projects, in association with Don Heckaman & Associates, at this facility including the design of a new physician's wing, urgent care facilities, training center as well as renovation of a number of doctor's suite throughout the complex. Also at this facility we completed construction documents for three doctor’s suite.
